This is my first story on El Mexicano newspaper! This story is about the journey of the ambulances. We got together for a recent meeting on 2-13-20 there was about 15 people or so. But we had recently sent 2 ambulances over to Tijuana. The people who started this are Bryan Peterson and Jerry Shultz. The way this all started was when Bryan Peterson and Jerry Shultz went on a trip to Tijuana in the summer. They are firefighters so they were helping over there. When they were on trip the ambulance stopped halfway with the patient aboard! So when they got back they decided they needed to do something about that because Bryan wanted to give back to them because they helped him get to his career. Mind you there was only 2 working ambulances in Tijuana. So, they bought an ambulance and wanted to send it over there. But they needed help. So that’s when they got in contact with El Mexicano newspaper. So many people were part of this. Maybe even you helped. We also have sent an ambulance to Sonra. They are all happy over there with there new ambulance. We now have 3 ambulances waiting to be sent over. There are 2 here in Fort Wayne and one over in Iowa. We all thought that those 2 ambulances were it. But I’m proud to say it is only the beginning of this wonderful journey. We need help to send these ambulances over. We are doing fundraisers to send these ambulances out such as doing kermes. Once we send these 3 ambulances over we are hoping to send some to Guatemala. This may be a little harder but we can definitely do it. It would take longer to send over. We also hope to buy new equipment to send over there! One way you can help is by buying a pin a t-shirt. This is something big, extordinary and one of a kind. If you want to continue this journey follow us on Facebook @elmexicanonews . We need all the help we can get to make this something 5x bigger than it already is. Hope you enjoyed this short story thanks for reading all the way through. See you next month on El Mexicano news. Have a wonderful day. Don’t forget to smile!
This week we met to discuss the future. We learned of some needs in Guatemala and the question was asked if there would be opportunity to donate to them. At the time, we didn’t have any ambulances that were not already committed. And then today, we got a call from Parkview Dekalb with an incredibly humbling donation…
